The Atlanta Falcons are poised to welcome a new minority investor.
According to CNBC, Dallas-based private equity firm Arctos has agreed to acquire a 10% ownership stake in the Falcons in a transaction that values the franchise at an enterprise value of $10.6 billion. The deal remains subject to approval by NFL owners, who are expected to vote on it during league meetings in October.
If approved, the Falcons would become the fourth NFL franchise in Arctos’ growing investment portfolio. The firm already owns minority stakes in the Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, and Cleveland Browns, further expanding its presence in one of the world’s most valuable sports leagues.
The reported valuation represents a significant jump from CNBC’s September 2025 estimate, which valued the Falcons at approximately $8 billion. Despite the team’s recent struggles on the field, Atlanta has continued to thrive as a business under owner Arthur Blank, benefiting from strong sponsorship revenue, premium seating, and the continued success of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Private equity investment in the NFL has accelerated since the league relaxed its ownership rules, allowing approved firms to purchase minority stakes in franchises. The Falcons transaction underscores the soaring values of NFL clubs and the increasing appeal of professional sports as long-term investment assets.
Should the deal receive the necessary approval this fall, Arctos will further solidify its position as one of the most influential institutional investors in professional sports.
